On the psychology and sociology of nominal thinking (1921-1923) – in which Scheler sketches the portrait of a Weber “almost nihilistic”, centered on “a tragic and unresolved irrational polytheism of values”, and mainly aimed at accomplishing, in particular, an interpretation of Wissenschaft als beruf dominated by a reading of weberian thought aimed at emphasizing in it the theme of the “exclusion” of philosophy.
