Abstract
The paper starts from the observation that the economic growth of the last two centuries has translated into “more life” for a growing number of individual human beings around the world. The success has been of such proportions that it has upset the entropic balance between organized human life and the natural environment. Within this scenario, two factors are actively shaping the current transformation: digitalization and sustainability. This dual transformative matrix marks the increasingly marked passage towards the “supersociety”. The supersociety involves a higher level of complexity and interaction between different aspects of social life (technical, anthropological, environmental). The paper focuses on the three possible and different directions along which the supersociety could develop.
