Schütz’s attempt to combine genetic phenomenology and comprehensive soci-ology is undoubtedly one of the most stimulating proposals to deepen the fruit-ful dialogue between philosophy and social sciences. The paper aims to recon-struct Alfred Schütz’s speculative itinerary, highlighting the continuity with Ed-mund Husserl’s thought in order to go through the path the author traced in outlining a phenomenology of Everyday life-world and in giving a philosophi-cal foundation to social sciences, placing at the centre of the investigation the meaningful structures that permeate the social world.
