Abstract
The article, in the first part, aims to analyse the centrality of educational processes within the 2030 Agenda from a general view of sociocultural changes through the lens of so-called critical education (some precursors will be recalled). In the second part, on the other hand, through the analysis of some documents of international bodies that illustrate what it means to place the human being at the centre in educational processes oriented towards the reduction of inequalities (social justice and sustainability), it analyse the plans and sector policies adopted within the Italian educational system for which there is a need to put the concept of the person back at the centre in order to form citizens aware of their actions within the social system.
