Migration processes are a complex and controversial phenomenon, therefore, a non-ethnocentric reading of them is necessary, which must also take into account what happens in different geographical areas. The present contribution focuses on Latin America and in particular on Venezuelan caminantes, recalling their experiences and memories of the journey (departure/ transit/arrival) both in the physical and emotional dimension that brought them to Colombia. With the focus on Venezuelan caminantes, this contribution aims to shed new light on a little studied aspect of the migration phenomenon that, however, allows to have a “reading” of the other point of view, that is, the point of view of those who leave their country.
