Abstract
The article explores the changes that involved the relationship between care and health in contemporary society. The role of the patient, with active and participatory behaviours, as well as the technologization of the health system are elements that need to be inscribed in the framework of contemporaneity, which opens new spaces of self-determination for the individual and puts the institutions in front of various challenges. The work will be organized as follows. An initial focus on the relationship between the processes of individualization, care and technology will be followed by an analysis of how the concept of health differs from the past. We will observe how health has assumed a precise connotation today, due to the acquisition of individual responsibility.
